Let go tour......STRESS!

stress-relief
Stress is bad, right? Or is it good? Well, if you talk to the experts, they’ll say both are true. You need some stress to just get out of bed in the morning. And when you drive to work in your car, you need stress to stay alert and respond to what is in front of you. So stress has its place.  But what if a high level of stress goes on and on? The doctors tell us that ongoing stress becomes Chronic Stress. Chronic Stress is bad news. It shuts down your immune system so you are susceptible to illness, and it robs you of a good night’s sleep.
Fortunately there is a solution. The key is to learn how to inhibit the Stress Response and enter into the Rest Response. If you want to change your stressful-ways, you need to develop and use new stress relief skills. Learn the techniques to direct your mind and body away from stress and into a restful state. Notice I said, “Learn.” That is because stress is automatic; it comes with the human operating system. However, rest and relaxation need to be learned and practiced, they do not come naturally

So what do we know so far? We need stress to make it through the day. Chronic stress makes us sick. And rest does not come naturally; you have to learn it. So where is the balance between stress and rest? To maintain balance in your workday, you should regularly cycle between moderate stress and rest. After major stressful encounters your body and mind need to reenter a deeply relaxing state. This cycle between stress and rest may happen every few hours or even several times in one hour during your workday.
Stress followed by rest is the key. Fortunately you do not need to take a long nap or go play a round of golf every time you get stressed. Stress relief really only takes a few minutes and needs to become a habit. Once rest is a habit, you will be able to recover from stress in a few minutes, and you will not enter into Chronic Stress.

10 Secrets for Instant Self-Confidence

1. Smile
The one-second tip for when you’re feeling nervous and unconfident is simply to smile! You don’t just smile because you are happy and confident, you can smile to make yourself feel better. The act of smiling is so strongly associated with positive feelings that it’s almost impossible to feel bad while smiling.

2. Make eye contact
As well as smiling, meet the eyes of other people in the room. Give them your smile; you’ll almost certainly get one back, and being smiled at is a great self-confidence boost. Like smiling, eye contact shows people that you’re confident. Staring at your shoes or at the table reinforces your feelings of self-doubt and shyness.
3. Change your inner voice
Most of us have a critical inner voice that tells us we’re stupid, not good enough, that we’re too fat, thin, loud, quiet… Being able to change that inner voice is key to feeling self-confident on the inside, which will help you project your confidence to the world. Make your inner voice a supportive friend who knows you fully but also recognizes your talents and gifts, and wants you to make the best of yourself.
4. Forget other people’s standards
Whatever the situation that’s causing you a crisis of self-confidence, you can help yourself immeasurably by holding yourself to your own standards alone. Other people have different values from you, and however hard you try, you’ll never please everyone all of the time. Don’t worry that people will think you’re too overweight, underweight, too feckless, too boring, too frugal, too frivolous … hold yourself to your standards, not some imagined standards belonging to others. And remember that commonly-held values and standards vary from society to society: you don’t have to accept them just because the people around you do.

5. Make the most of your appearance
Even if you’ve only got a minute or two, duck into the bathroom to make sure you’re looking your best. Brushing your hair, giving your face a good wash, retouching your makeup, straightening your collar, checking you’ve not got a bit of parsley stuck between your teeth … all of these can make the difference between feeling confident in your physical appearance and feeling anxious about an imagined flaw.
6. Pray or meditate briefly
If you believe in a higher power, whether God, or another spiritual force, it can be a real boost to self-confidence to say a silent prayer. (You could also meditate instead of praying.) This helps you to take a step back from your immediate situation, to see the wider picture and to seek help from something or someone greater than yourself.
7. Reframe
If something unexpected happens, it’s easy to let it knock your fledgling self-confidence. Perhaps you spill your drink on someone, you arrive late for the big meeting because of traffic problems, or someone who you wanted to speak to gives you a cold brush-off. Try to “reframe” the situation; put it in the best possible light: often, events are only negative because of the meaning we attach to them.
8. Find the next step
Keep your self-confidence up by taking gradual steps forwards, rather than freezing when faced with what seems like a giant leap. If you’re not sure what to do, look for one simple step that you can take to make progress. That might mean making eye contact at a party, introducing yourself to a stranger, breaking the ice in a meeting, or asking a question of your interviewers that shows your knowledge of their industry and company
9. Speak slowly
An easy tip for both seeming and being more self-confidence is to speak slowly. If you gabble, you’ll end up feeling worse as you know you’re being unclear to your audience or to the person you’re in a conversation with. Speaking slowly gives you the chance to think about what you’re going to say next. If you’re giving a talk or presentation, pause at the end of phrases and sentences to help your audience take in what you’ve said
10. Contribute something
Have you ever sat through an entire class at college or meeting at work without saying a word? Have you had an evening out where friends chatted happily while you sat and stared silently at your drink? Chances are, you weren’t feeling very self-confident at the time and you probably felt even worse afterwards. Whatever the situation you’re in, make an effort to contribute. Even if you don’t think you have much to say, your thoughts and perspective are valuable to those around you.

Respect. That is a keyword.

We strongly condemn Pastor Jones for his stunt to burn the Holy Quran on September 11th, this vile action is designed to cause distress towards Muslims and many people of all faiths and we urge him to reconsider. The burning of any religious scriptures is unacceptable and must be stopped. We welcome the strong comments of President Obama and his Government but we urge urgent action now to stop this stunt.

With freedom of choice comes responsibility and we call on the US Government to take urgent action to stop this racist bigot.

The coming of faith leaders across the United States is comforting to the Muslim communities and an indication that that the burning of the Quran is an attack on all decent tolerant people. This so called man of faith is going against the teachings of the faith of Christianity and there is no link between the Quran and terrorism.

September 11th is a day to remember the victims and not carry out stunts that will lead to community division, in this we hope he fails. The ever increasing attacks on Islam and Muslims is worrying for our communities and we would urge people to reflect on the acceptance of suck attacks as justified.

We urge a peaceful, tolerant response to his actions, our message is of non violence and I hope people understand this.

Meriam Buluh!!

KAA-BOOOOM, goes the artillery. Meriam buluh (literally translated as bamboo canon) is probably endemic to our country, as I never heard people from neighboring country to play meriam buluh during raya puasa celebration. Meriam buluh is usually played during night time throughout the month of ramadhan. In certain places, this ear drum shattering device is played from ramdhan until hari raya puasa. Meriam buluh, as the name implies, is made from bamboo, preferably mide-sized lower part of bamboo to ensure the bamboo is thick enough to withstand explosions. Once cut to desired length, the inner part is cored and cleaned to ensure no debris or bamboo segment left inside. A small hole will be bored at the top of one end to serve as ignition chamber. In some parts of remote village, meriam buluh is dipped into seawater for few days to reinforce the outer part of the cannon to reduce the risk of shattering the cannon ignition. The loud booming sound of meriam buluh is achieved by mixing carbide with water, causing a gas to build up in the chamber and explode on in contact with fire (by a torch made by a stick wrapped by old cloth and soaked with kerosene). Guys, meriam buluh is fun game but you all might need to be extra careful because it might be exploded to pieces and injure nearby standers. So make sure nobody is near meriam buluh during the blast. Playing meriam buluh in the old days were pretty much like battle between neighboring communities.  Whoever blast the loudest wins. But meriam buluh is rarely played in the city and town due to difficulty to get the main resource, bomboo. Although it is not safe playing meriam buluh, we should keep it last forever since it is one of the tradition in celebrating eidulfitr. Till we meet again guys. KA-BOOOM!

How to lose weight fast!

Hi guys. So today we want to share about how to lose weight fast. Well one of our room keep on talking about losing some weight. He started to consume this one protein supplement called Herbal Life. Yeah we know some of you might be one of the consumers too. But we have a better way to lose weight fast to share with you guys.

1.       Drink a glass of water before you start the meal. Water naturally needs some space so that you feel fuller without actually having to stuff yourself.

2.       Stay away from sweetened bottle drinks, especially sodas. Hey all those colas and fizzy drinks are sweetened with sugar and sugar means calories. The more you can cut out on these sweetened bottle drinks, the better for you. So if you must drink sodas, then stick to diet sodas.

3.       Include in your diet things that contain more water like tomatoes and watermelons. These things contain 90 to 95 % water so that there is nothing that you have to lose by feasting on them. They fill you up without adding to the pounds.

4.        Increase your fiber intake. Like I mentioned, the body needs a lot of fiber. So try to include in your diet as many fruits and vegetables as you can.

5.       Eat intelligently. The difference between man and beast is that we are driven by intelligence while beasts are driven by instinct. Don’t just eat something because you feel like eating it. Ask yourself whether your body really needs it.

6.       Control that sweet tooth. Remember that sweet things generally mean more calories. It is natural that we have cravings for sweet things especially chocolates and other confectionary. Take this weight loss tips seriously and go easy on these things and each time you consume something sweet understand that it is going to add on somewhere.

7.       Quit snacking in between meals. Do not fall for snacks in between meals. This is especially true for those who have to travel a lot. They feel that the only time they can get a bite to eat is snacks and junk food. The main problem with most snacks and junk food is that they are usually less filling and contain a lot of fat and calories.

8.        Limit your sugar intake. If you can’t have things unsweetened go for sugar substitutes. These things are just as sweetening but are certainly not fattening.

9.       Go easy on salt, as too much salt is one of the causes of obesity. Make it a point to really cut down on salt. Try to bring down your salt intake to half of what it was last year.

10.   Exercise outdoors as far as possible. There are two advantages of doing whatever you are doing outside. One advantage is that it gives your body a chance to get a lot of the much needed fresh air and sunshine. The second advantage is that the surroundings keep you perked up and it is a break from remaining cooped up all day long

That’s all for now and we’ll update you next time. Goodluck! J

Eidulfitr.

Guys, it is Syawal this month. Eidulfitr! Ahh duit raya. Probably the fondest childhood memory for us right? Remember the time when we used to go house to house collecting duit raya and by the end of the day, our pocket nearly burst with money. Yes, that was the time when duit raya came in the form of rm1 coins. Nowadays we rarely get to see that because rm1 coin already ceased from from exists. I view duit raya is an equivalent counterpart of Christmas trick or treat presents, because it is what makes hari raya so meaningful to children. We remember back in the childhood days we spent duit raya to buy new Tamiya cars or even a pair of rollerblade. Some view the practice of giving duit raya as encouraging children to splurge on money, we believe it is all about being generous to other people. Moral value to be learned at it, my friends. Right?

Guys, Eidulfitr is not the same without kuih raya. Kuih raya comes in variety form and taste and could be traditional or modern. Popular kuih raya includes dodol, bahulu, batang buruk and many more. If we list it all, u guys will be dreaming of it while sleeping tonight. Recent years we saw western influences making its way into snack. Today, during eidulfitr we can see a jar of chocolate chip cookies line up side by side with batang buruk together with our traditional kuih raya. Even some of our local kuih raya for instance bahulu have featured western influences. Yeah, how many of you have tried chocolate chip bahulu? Nope? Well I did and it tastes better than the tradiotional bahulu. Most kuih raya are made to last throughout the month of syawal and usually made in large batch because obviously kuih raya is served to guest during open house. But nowadays people more intent to order the kuih raya instead of making it from scratch. Therefore, kuih raya has lost it’s exclusive value. But whatever it is, how modern this world will be, Eidulfitr won’t be the same without the same without duit raya and kuih raya. We taking this chance to wish you guys, Happy Eidulfitr!
